Recycle With Me

McKay Salisbury

My Story

Many years ago, I began a project of collecting aluminum cans from neighbors close by my house. I would ask them to not throw them away but to put them asside so I could come by each Saturday morning to collect them. I'd then take them to the recycling center after collecting enough to make the trip worth while. This was for both personal income and to help my neighborhood be a bit more "green".

Since then, my personal schedule has become a more involved in various activities like Scouting, school and several other personal activies. These have often conflicted with my ability to regularly collect cans in the neighborhood each Saturday morning.

I've wanted to expand the area in my neighborhood where I collect cans but didn't know how to work it out because of my competing activities. Now I know what to do. Please read on.

New Plan

In order to be able to provide this collection service for more people, I am changing how I work with each of my neighbors. My collection day will still be most Saturdays as time permits but it may not always be in the morning. Intead of always walking a certain route, I will come by invitation to your home. I am also providing each of my neighbors another option. Please see the Pick Up page for more information. If you have any questions on how to prepare your aluminum cans, I have some information here

Why Recycle With Me?

Recently, Kaysville City implemented a new recycling program. I hope you are all taking advantage of it. Whether you are or aren't, I ask that you save your aluminum products and other non-ferrous metals so that I can collect them from you. This will provide me with an opportunity to earn and save some money for serving an LDS Mission someday as well as other personal saving goals. It will help you be more environmentally friendly while having satisfaction of supporting the local guy.
